Delete account
Take your name off our books.

You can delete your Tuck Me In account at any time. Deletion wipes your personal data and the device-state data of any phone paired to your account - your child's app inventory, usage history, lock events, location pings and pending time requests all go with you.
The short version
Open the parent app → Settings → Delete account. Confirm. Done - usually within seconds. If you've already uninstalled the app, email tuckmein@localhost.co.zw from the phone number on your account and we'll process it within 30 days.

1. How to delete (two ways)
In-app (fastest)
- Open the Tuck Me In parent app.
- Tap the Settings icon (top-right).
- Scroll to the bottom of the sheet and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You'll be signed out immediately and your data wiped in the background.
By email
If you've uninstalled the parent app, or you can't sign in for any reason, email tuckmein@localhost.co.zw from the phone number on your account and include:
- The phone number you used to sign up, in E.164 format (e.g.
+263771234567). - The display name on your account, if you remember it.
- The word delete somewhere in the body so it doesn't get triaged as a billing question.
We'll reply confirming we've received the request and again once deletion has completed. We process within 30 days; in practice it's usually within 48 hours.
2. What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following is irreversibly removed:
- Your phone number, display name, and any other profile fields you've filled in.
- Your authentication tokens and any active sign-ins are revoked.
- Your FCM push token (so we can't send you another notification even by mistake).
- Every device paired to your account is unpaired and its policy data - bedtime schedules, app budgets, app inventory, usage history, lock events, tamper events, time requests, location pings, places - is wiped from our database.
- Any co-parent invitations you sent that haven't been accepted are revoked.
- Any co-parent memberships you held on other parents' devices are removed (they remain the owners of their own devices; only your access is removed).
3. What we keep, and why
A small, narrowly-scoped set of records is retained even after deletion. We're explicit about it here so there are no surprises:
- Payment receipts (Pesepay transaction reference, amount, currency, status, timestamps) - kept for at least 5 years to satisfy Zimbabwean tax and accounting record-keeping requirements (Income Tax Act, VAT Act). The receipts are anonymised on deletion: your name and phone number are detached, only the transaction metadata remains.
- Anonymised server logs - already rotated within 30 days under our normal retention policy. We don't keep a separate copy for deleted accounts.
- Aggregate counts like "total signups in May 2026" or "monthly active devices" - already non-identifying.
We do not retain any of the data listed in section 2 after deletion, even in anonymised form. We don't ship deleted-user data to model-training datasets or analytics partners. Deletion means deletion.
4. If you have devices paired
Deletion of the parent account triggers an automatic unpair on every device paired to it. On the next time the agent on the child's phone checks in, it will discover it's no longer paired and:
- Stop enforcing the rules you set (bedtime, app caps, web safety, etc).
- Stop reporting usage and location back to our server.
- Show a brief notice that pairing has ended.
The agent does not uninstall itself - that's not something Android lets us do without parent confirmation on the device. You'll need to manually uninstall the agent from the child's phone if you want to remove it completely. Settings → Apps → Tuck Me In → Uninstall. (You'll need the tamper PIN you set, if any.)
5. If you have a paid subscription
Deleting your account ends your subscription immediately. Pesepay does not refund the current billing cycle automatically - there's no cycle to "use up" once your account is gone. If you'd like a prorated refund for the unused portion of the cycle, mention it in your deletion request and we'll consider it on a case-by-case basis per our Terms of Service §6.
Auto-renew is automatically disabled when the account is deleted - we won't charge you again. Pesepay will not retain a payment authorisation on your behalf.
6. Timeline
- In-app deletion - your account is wiped within seconds and you're signed out. Cached data on your phone (and on any paired device) clears on the next sync.
- Email request - we reply confirming receipt within 2 business days, and complete the deletion within 30 days. Most are done within 48 hours.
- Backups - our nightly database backups roll forward on a 14-day retention. Within 14 days of deletion, the last copy of your data leaves our backups.
7. Export your data first?
Before deleting, you can request a portable export of all data we hold about you and your devices - JSON, sent by reply email. Useful if you want to keep usage history or tamper logs for your own records. Email tuckmein@localhost.co.zw with export in the subject and we'll have it back to you within 30 days.
